Without question one of the best rock/punk groups in Australia today. It was such an honour and joy photographing this band. Known for their high-energy performances and raw, fast-paced sound, the band is fronted by charismatic vocalist Amy Taylor. Their music blends elements of punk, pub rock, and garage rock, often featuring rebellious and hard-hitting lyrics. Their style and attitude are heavily influenced by ’70s punk, and they have built a reputation for electrifying live shows. The same night as support Bob Vylan played, I had never heard of them but enjoyed their set. Two British dudes who play a rap/punk fusion. I had all gear intact for their set but right before Amyl was due on my main lens failed. The autofocus would shake and never steady, leaving me to shoot the whole set with my zoom lens. Not ideal but made it work.
I worked really hard to get the photo pass for this one, emailing everyone from management, promoter, support acts and the venue. It was the venue that pulled through which has now led to ongoing work. I am about to send this venue an enquiry for consistent work, at a cost. Wish me luck.
